Thanks for the follow-up – another sign of the good business man you are. It is a real pleasure working with you, a rare exception in a land so lousy with liars, charlatans and plain incompetent fools.
I recently came once again across a saying I’ve always liked: “Integrity is doing the right thing when no one is watching”. Or, in our case, complaining. I didn’t even have to bring up the fact that your guys didn’t quite get the support for the boiler right the first time. You just saw the problem and took the responsible corrective action. I really appreciate that, as it’s an attitude that sadly seems to have disappeared, by and large.
Also I appreciate how you and your team listen to my oddball requests. I wonder how many customers you get who want to be able to isolate and disconnect every radiator in their house? And then, when plan A using the hose clamps felt too risky to Brian, we talked about it and went with the crimp clamps. I’m glad he didn’t just blindly do it without thinking about it. And the icing was the tip that I can now also isolate all but one radiator and drain it through the boiler! I would NOT have thought of that.
One final note I wanted to share: I love seeing how your older guys teach the younger ones on the job. They’re not just grunts, they’re trainees. I should think that bodes well for these guys, especially if they also adopt your style of treating customers.
